I have got things to say about this entire (new) Rove mess, but I've been spending most of my free time trying to finish up a volunteer obligation to some folks who are actually trying to do something about the state of the country, not just bloviate like me. I did notice with some interest this tidbit from Rep. Peter King (R-3rd Dist. NY) on Tuesdays' Scarborough Country:
And I think people like Tim Russert and the others, who gave this guy such a free ride and all the media, they're the ones to be shot, not Karl Rove. Listen, maybe Karl Rove was not perfect. We live in an imperfect world. And I give him credit for having the guts.
And I really—I tell you, Republicans are running for cover. They should be out attacking Joe Wilson. We should throw this back at them with all the nonsense that has been said about George Bush and all the lies that have come out.
Nifty. Eliminationist rhetoric and Republican game plan all in one tidy package. And it turns out that King was right: Attack Joe Wilson was exactly what the Republicans did.
I've added the eliminationist quote to They've Got To Be Carefully Taught. As for the Republican attacks, no-one should have expected anything else from the Republican Party. If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit.
